Missionaries
SCCC has a vision for seeing the Gospel shared "to the ends of the earth." Missions and supporting missionaries is an integral part of SCCC. More than 25% of the annual budget is designated towards helping those who have dedicated their lives to this very task, especially those who are working to share the Gospel message here in Mexico. Join us as we pray for these faithful servants!
Agua y Mas
Maggie Archiga
Maggie has a shelter in Guaymas for orphaned children and battered & abused women with no place to go - especially women with children. The goal is to help mothers get into the workplace, while the children remain at the center and receive both spiritual and educational training. She reaches out to the community around her with Bible studies, English lessons, workshops (sewing, knitting, crocheting, etc.). She holds services on the street and gives out clothing and shoes, etc., when available.
Belen Casa de Pan
Devon & Marisol Kehler
Devon and Marisol initially started a Feeding Program with a disadvantaged group in Independencia (South Guaymas). From this, it has expanded to providing clothing, teaching hygiene basics, and a time of worship and spiritual training. Up to 65 children, who attend on a twice weekly basis, are divided into smaller groups for the teaching time. This past Christmas, unchurched parents of these children were invited to attend an incredible Christmas presentation, all about Jesus as presented by their own children. They have a vision to expand to a full care center for abused moms and disadvantaged children.
United Ministries Fellowship
Job & Maria Sierra
Job and his wife Maria regularly travel into more remote villages in the mountains, preaching and encouraging several existing church plants.
The Great Commission has been given to the Church and this is the heartbeat of their ministry. They have been consistently visiting these church plants, preaching and have seen the fruit of their labors as people come to know Christ.
Centro Educativo Cristiano
Ryan Thiessen
Serving with Centro Educativo Cristiano, Ryan serves in various capacities including administration, teaching and maintenance. The goal of the school is to train and equip Mexican nationals to reach their own people and be effective leaders in their own congregations. The desire for each school term is to see more than just a gathering of information but a transformation of lives.
Ryan also helps to oversee a ministry recently started by one of our first year grads in the small village town of Arizpe. Benito Hernandez had the vision to start a drug and rehab center and is currently serving as director and also pastor of a thriving congregation that exists alongside the rehab center.

Ken & Ruth
Ken and Ruth have spent many years reaching out to the people of a small, remote, indigenous village in the mountains of Chihuahua, Mexico. Having studied medicine in Mexico, Ken practices as a doctor in a clinic they have set up in La Mesa to help reach out to these people.
Ruth is working as an administrative assistant alongside Ken on site. She has a ministry of hospitality to the local people as well as to outside visitors to their location. Ken is team leader to the La Mesa team, works in community health in the clinic on site and is a liaison between their Mexican civil association and the US headquarters, working in administration.
Their prayer is that the Gospel would be clearly proclaimed so that it would be understood in the people's own language. Over ten years have gone into a language course preparation as this particular dialect had never been studied thoroughly or put into writing. The goal is to slowly but surely provide the Scriptures and Biblical teachings in the local's own language.

Rob & Sherry Kehler
Several years ago, Rob and his family came to Mexico during the Christmas season, giving out food hampers and Bibles to the needy. After several years of delivering hampers and Bibles, Rob started working with the Jesus film, showing it in fishing villages and in remote villages in the Sierra Madres. As he became more acquainted with local pastors and ministries, he expanded his repertoire of Evangelistic films and broadened his support of these local pastors and ministries in their evangelistic endeavors. Rob has traveled numerous miles through the Sierra Madres on motorcycle with a portable video system and boxes of Bibles. Now he travels with an SUV with portable seating for 70 attendees, a full slate of evangelistic videos, Spanish Bibles for both children and adults and other evangelistic materials. Rob, while being entirely self-supported, continues to make a huge impact among the marginalized and unreached peoples of Northern Mexico.
Casa de Esperanza
Art & Brenda Koenes
Casa de Esperanza seeks to be a bridge between cultures, allowing opportunities for a cross-cultural missions experience wherein American and Canadian teams can come alongside their Mexican brothers and sisters in a short-term missions experience in order to encourage and help build up the local church here in Mexico. The mission center is a year-round facility, hosting teams throughout the winter, and also hosting retreats for Mexican churches throughout the summer.
Art & Brenda Koenes have a diverse ministry of service, including groups such as the Medical Team hosted yearly, to offering feeding programs, food baskets, children's ministries and other programs as well. The financial support of Casa de Esperanza is used to help them provide food for those in need.

Women's Prison Ministry
Gabriela Montemayor
It has been 3 years since Gabriela became involved in this wonderful Ministry. She has seen how powerfully the Lord has changed some of these ladies' lives that surrendered to Jesus. They are such a great testimony to their families and fellow inmates. The ladies have a time for Bible study, spend time praying for each other, share different biblical passages and some thoughts. Gabriela teaches about forgiveness, but not just about forgiving others but how to really accept other's forgiveness, knowing Jesus's sacrifice gave us freedom from sin and since we have been forgiven, we need to forgive each other.
Gabriela would appreciate your prayers for protection and wisdom for herself and her ministry partners: Heather Rix (one year) and Nancy Dreiling (this season). Also, she requests specific prayers for those ladies who are starting to realize that God exists, loves them and wants to show His power in their lives.

Missionary Gospel Fellowship
Heather Rix
Heather is ministering right here in the San Carlos/Guaymas area, sensing God's call to a ministry of support and empowerment, working alongside other missionaries and local believers in kid's clubs, ladies' groups, a Bible school and in the community. She describes it this way:
"My purpose as a unique personality created by God is to continue to know God more and worship Him by seeking to know and do my role in His plan, being kind, caring and accepting; using every opportunity to creatively, practically and alongside others share the love and grace of God with the world near and far through the power of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God."
"When I wrote that purpose statement many years ago, I had no idea how it would all play out. But I see it in some form every day. I consider myself to be a helper, so depending on the current need, I am a teacher, secretary, translator, art instructor, chauffeur, photographer, mentor, aunt, friend. God has taught me that relationship is what it's all about - first with Him then with others. And with relationship comes great joy, indescribable heartache and daily spiritual battles. Because of God's grace I am here and I pray that His grace and love are reflected in my life daily. Thank you for praying!"
